Employment at SBCH
The hospital will deliver lots of health services
closer to where people live in south Bristol. There will also
be education, training and conference rooms for meetings and
community events.
Roles within the new hospital
Lots of different roles deliver services in the NHS. These will be
needed in the new hospital, for example:
• administration, reception and clerical
• support services, such as cleaning, portering,
housekeeping
• and catering
• Information Management and Technology (IM and T)
• healthcare assistants
• assistant practitioners
• doctors
• nurses
• therapists (for example, occupational health and
physiotherapists)
• radiographers.
Potential employment opportunities
The majority of services at the new hospital will be
transferring
from elsewhere in Bristol (for example, from the Bristol
General
Hospital and the South Bristol Walk-in Centre), and the existing
staff will move with them.
About 300 members of staff will work at the hospital in clinical
and non-clinical roles. There will not be many new vacancies when
the hospital first opens, but over time, with normal staff
turnover, there will be job opportunities at the new hospital.
